Axlewright wanted two of its pick-and-place arms running live for the whole show, safely guarded but fully visible. They also needed a small theatre for hourly talks, without the talks drowning out the demos.
Each robot cell sits on a steel plinth with levelling feet rated for 1.2 tonnes, bolted through our raised floor so the arms could run at full speed without the stand shaking. Clear polycarbonate guards keep people out and let everyone see in.
Above the stand hangs an 8 m diameter ring header, rigged from the hall roof on six points. It carries the lighting and the graphics, so the island has no walls blocking the view across it.
At one end, three stepped timber tiers seat thirty for talks. We angled the tiers away from the robot cells and lined their backs with acoustic panels, so a speaker and a running arm could share the stand.
The plinths, guards and seating tiers went back into storage after the show, ready for Axlewright’s next event.
